LIVINGSTON-POLK COUNTY Dear Board Member ___________________: I am sincerely looking forward to serving as your President this year. The purpose of this agreement is so that I may understand your interest in serving on this board, and that you can understand what is expected of you as a Director of this organization, as this year is going to be a significant year for our Chamber. The Board of Directors is the policy making body of the Chamber of Commerce and as such we are the major work force of the Chamber of Commerce. Our Board Members represent a broad cross-section of the business and professional leadership of our community. A director is very important to the Board, so an understanding is in order about each Board Members responsibility. These responsibilities include: 1. Attendance and participation at strategic meetings for the enhancement of our Chamber. 2. Attendance at the Annual Installation Banquet. 3. Attendance at Board meetings once a month from noon to 1:00 p.m. on the Second Tuesday. 4. Attendance at 50 % of all Chamber Sponsored Events, such as New Member Luncheons, Quarterly Membership Meetings, Ribbon-Cuttings, and Business-After-Hours. 5. Attendance at special events to promote the Chamber or City. 6. Assisting in Chamber fund-raising activities to include the sale of tickets. 7. Serve one at least one committee of your choice, or as may be requested by the President. 8. Perform such duties as may be requested from time to time by the President and/or Board of Directors. We are in the process of reviewing and revising our Policies and Procedures of the Chamber and as soon as this is available, we will bring this to each of you so you can be an informed representative of the Chamber Board and support the organization, its programs and policies and to do all that you can to develop and uphold the high standards set by previous Board of Directors.
