Purpose of This Guidebook

This Guidebook has been prepared to inform you about [company] 's history, philosophy, employment or contract arrangement practices, and policies, as well as the benefits provided to you as a valued employee and the conduct expected from you.

No Employee Guidebook can answer every question, nor would we want to restrict the normal question and answer interchange among us.  It is in our person-to-person conversations that we can better know each other, express our views, and work together in a harmonious relationship.

We hope this Guidebook will help you get to know us better.  We depend on you –it is together that we are all successful.  Do ask questions—never hesitate to seek clarification and understanding.  Your team leader and  [manager] will gladly discuss these with you.  We believe you will enjoy your work and your fellow employees here.  We also believe you will find [company] a good place to work.

Please take the time to review this Guidebook, and refer to it whenever questions arise.  Also, share this information with your family so they can become familiar with [company] and our policies.  This Guidebook is important which is why each employee [or contract arrangement individual] will  your review and sign an acknowledgement of the [company] Employee Guidebook.

[Company] 's policies, benefits and rules, as explained in this Guidebook, may be changed from time to time as business, employment or contract arrangement legislation, and economic conditions dictate.  If and when provisions are changed, replacement pages for those that have become outdated will be available.  A copy will also be placed in our central location.

Please Note

The policies in this Guidebook are to be considered as guidelines.  [Company], at its option, may change, delete, suspend or discontinue any part or parts of the policies in this Guidebook at any time without prior notice.  While a team may from time to time be established to review this Guidebook, no one other than the [CEO/Manager] of [Company] may authorize to alter or modify any of the policies in this Guidebook.  No statement or promise by a team leader, or supervisor, manager, or department head, may be interpreted as a change in policy nor will it constitute an agreement with an Employee and/or contractor.

Should any provision in this Employee Guidebook be found to be unenforceable and invalid, such finding does not invalidate the entire Employee Guidebook, but only the subject provision.   This Guidebook replaces (supersedes) all other previous Guidebooks for [company] as of [MMM 200#].

All [company] standards, guidelines and rules are subject to the Employment Standards of the Province of New Brunswick and the laws governing thereof.
