Each month we publish in our
newsletter some of the delightful questions that we are asked which, in
one way or another, lighten our days. For most of them, the answers
are obvious. Others catch the staff a bit off-guard. We include some
of them here and hope they might brighten your day a bit as they have
ours.
A gentleman called the
Chamber wanting information on hotels in the Show Low area. "Is there
any hotel in Show Low that will allow me to bring my pet goat?"
A Chamber member called the
Chamber office. "I want to order a scotch and water and a bucket of
ice and I want it delivered to my office." Apparently he was having a
bad day and needed to ventilate so, like many others, he called the
Chamber!!
A man came into the office
and told us he was looking for an old friend. He said that he knew his
first name but could not remember his last. He wanted to know if we
would perhaps know a man named Bob something?
A woman walked into the
Chamber complaining, "Is it always this cold up here?" We told her it
wasn't ... that we have four seasons and it just happened to be the
winter season. When asked where she lived she replied, "Minnesota."
"Do you know the address of
Maria Gomez?" asked a woman who telephoned the Chamber. We told her
that we did not have her address, nor did we even know who she was. We
suggested the caller telephone information and probably they would
have a telephone number for her so she could get the address. "Well,"
the woman replied, "I thought the Chamber of Commerce had a people
finder book." |
