EDITORIAL In our last newsletter, we asked some questions. We
had more than several responses, saying they loved the site but they
could not afford to join. You can not afford not to join. I started out in
chamber work in 1970 and graduated from institute in 1977. You don’t
have to tell me Chambers are always under staffed, over worked and under
paid. Being under staffed we need every advantage we can
get and why invent the wheel over again. Chamber101 has 12,000 pages of
ideas, just ideas. You can take these ideas and modify them to fit your
chamber. I was very surprised how many of our members are
accredited. When you are king of the hill, it’s hard to stay on top and
they need every benefit to stay on top. Chamber101 is our continuing
education program. The members of Chamber101 can collectively accomplish
what no one chamber can do alone. As a chamber exec, we tell our members that we can do
more together than we can individually. As chamber execs, we know the
great silent majority of members pay for the active member and if every
member was active we would be swamped, well Chamber101 is like that,
too. We need a great number of members to pay for the overhead and a
smaller group being involved and everyone sending data now and then. It’s never going to happen but if you click on
http://www.chamber101.com and
nothing happens, would you say then I should have supported Chamber101.
Well, say it’s a great resource and we (I) need to support it now. In this 7 day period you and your Chamber should be
able to generate enough new ideas and/or time-saving tools to cover your
membership in Chamber101. Will we have hundreds of new members next
week, who knows?
We CAN do it all; we just can’t do it all alone! I’m hoping that this
editorial, as such, will generate more feedback. The
