Chamber Receives National Awards for
Website and Membership Directory
The Santa Rosa Chamber of Commerce was recently recognized by the American
Chamber of Commerce Executives (ACCE) at the 2003 Chamber Professionals
Conference, held in August in Denver, Colorado.
The Chamber's website was recognized with the prestigious "Award of
Excellence," an award which honors Chambers whose featured communication
"surpasses the fundamental standards and criteria for communications
excellence." Only two other Chambers of Commerce received this award for
their websites: the Las Vegas Area Chamber of Commerce and the Delaware
State Chamber of Commerce.
The Chamber was also recognized with the "Award of Merit" for the
Chamber's Membership Directory, published by Century Publishing.
The Awards for Communications Excellence (ACE) is an annual competition
that recognizes excellence in all areas of communications. This year's ACE
competition drew 295 entries from 95 Chambers throughout the country.
Forty-one judges spent over 200 hours of judging and provided
comprehensive feedback for each participant.
"The awards program is a unique opportunity for Chamber executives and
Chamber professionals to gauge how they are doing in comparison to their
peers throughout the country," said Heather G. Wachter, Chair of the ACE
Awards Committee.
"ACCE is proud to honor, reward and celebrate the achievements of
outstanding communications programs, campaigns and projects in the Chamber
industry," added ACCE President Mick Fleming.
