Catch the VoteForBusiness Bus!

VoteForBusiness Bus

Come downtown for the only Louisiana stop of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce's VoteForBusiness Bandwagon Tour.  The 12-state tour is part of the U.S. Chamber's drive to register voters and support pro-business candidates and legislation.  This year, Energy & Infrastructure are the main drives of bus campaign!

On August 13th at 10:30 a.m., the VoteForBusiness Bus will arrive at the offices of the Chamber SWLA (120 West Pujo Street, Downtown Lake Charles).  After remarks from special speakers from the U.S. Chamber and America's Energy Coast, there will be a free lunch, voter registration and fun & prizes for attendees!

The Chamber SWLA, the U.S. Chamber, and America's Energy Coast are joining forces to highlight what the business community is doing to modernize and expand our nation's transportation and energy infrastructure.  Together, The Chamber SWLA and the U.S. Chamber are working to address America's most fundamental needs.

"Through the tour, we hope to promote pro-business legislation and remind constituents of their importance at the ballot box in '08.  These efforts include registering attendees to vote, garnering publicity and media on the tour, and talking to audiences about what we are doing on important issues," said VoteForBusiness organizer Eileen Goulding.

"The Chamber SWLA strongly urges everyone to get out and vote!" agreed Chamber SWLA President/CEO George Swift.  "We are honored to be the only Louisiana stop on their cross country tour.  We often visit with the U.S. Chamber during our trips to Washington, D.C. They have proven to be invaluable partners to the Chamber SWLA with our pro-Southwest Louisiana, pro-business lobbying efforts in our nation's capital."

This event will feature the following speakers:
·        U.S. Chamber of Commerce's John Gonzales on their Faster, Better,   Safer Infrastructure Campaign
·         Sydney Coffee from America's Energy Coast on "What infrastructure means to Louisiana & America's Energy Coast"
·         Executive Vice President and Managing Director of the U.S. Chamber of Commerce Karen Harbert who will present the keynote on "21st Century Energy"

The VoteForBusiness bus will have raffles for prizes, free stuff (t-shirts, Frisbees, beach balls, etc.) and voter education resources.
