Chamber asked the following questions to our municipal
candidates
1. Why have you decided to let your name stand for
election?
2. Briefly outline the top three issues you feel will be
of significant importance in the next three years?
3. What key competencies do you bring to the job that will
ensure the future economic prosperity and quality of life
of our community?
4. Please provide a brief background and examples of
personal and professional experience that demonstrate:
a) You are proficient in financial planning and
management, setting of large budgets, interpretation of
financial statements, reports and contract proposals.
b) You possess the ability to effectively communicate,
both written and oral, in both public and private sector
forums as well as any experience dealing with media and
those in senior government.
c) You understand labor and human resource issues,
hiring/firing, contract negotiations and conflict
resolution.
d) You have skills and abilities to lead and/or contribute
to strategic planning initiatives involving different
groups of society with varied interests.
5. What are you going to do in your first 100 days as a
councilor to boost the public’s confidence in municipal
politicians? In public office?
