OFFICIAL CONTESTANT RULES AND REGULATIONS

1)    Contestants need not be members of the ICS except for the 1st place winner.  Contestants must be 18 years of age or older.

2)    Contestants must submit a minimum of 1 quart for judging purposes.

3)    There are NO rules as to ingredients used or preparation.  Salsa may be prepared in advance or at the event.  Commercial salsas will be permitted.

4)    Judges will be told there is one and only one for criteria for judging salsa.  "Vote for the one you like the best!"

5)    The 1st place winner advances to the World's Championship Salsa Finals (WCSF) at the 1998 WCCC.  Once a contestant qualifies for the WCCC Salsa Finals, they may no longer compete in any ICS Salsa Contests.

6)    The decision of the Chief Salsa Judge is final.
