CHRISTMAS IN BELLBROOK

THEME: “Visions of Sugarplums”

SATURDAY DECEMBER 1, 2001

SUNDAY DECEMBER 2, 2001

INTRODUCTION:

“Visions of Sugarplums” is the theme for the 2001 Christmas in Bellbrook celebration. The Christmas in Bellbrook committee cordially invites you to enjoy an old-fashioned, family Christmas with many opportunities to share in the joy of giving, the peace of the holidays and the festive fun of the season. Bring your friends and family where the spirit of Christmas is alive and rings from every housetop and chimney... stroll through Bellbrock Park and catch the twinkling, bright lights and truly catch the spirit of Christmas!

CHRISTMAS DINNER DANCE:

Come dance the night away on Saturday, December 1, 2000 at the Bellbrook-Sugarcreek Community Center from 7:00 PM to 12:00 Midnight. Little Miami River will cater the 9th annual Christmas Dinner Dance, and Eric Munday from Advent Music will be hosting our musical selections. There will be door prizes and outstanding raffles. Tickets are $15.00 per person. They are available at Well's Pharmacy located at 3951 West Franklin St.. For further information or to buy tickets call Denny at 848-2204.

PTO BREAKFAST WITH SANTA:

Santa will be making his annual appearance at the PTO Breakfast with Santa at the Bellbrook Junior High School from 9:00 AM to 1:00 PM. Children can take advantage of the Secret Santa Shop and free crafts as well as a visit with Santa. Tickets are $2.00 in advance or $2.50 at the door. Children 3 and under are admitted free and there is a $10.00 limit per family.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST & COOKIE WALK:

The Bellbrook United Methodist Church is sponsoring their Annual Pancake and Sausage Breakfast and Cookie Walk on Saturday from 8:30 to 10:30. The church is located at 47 E. Franklin St.. Come and enjoy a good old-fashioned breakfast sure to be a highlight of the weekend. Carry out service is also available. Prices are $3.50 per adult and $2.25 per child. A box of cookies will be $5.00. All proceeds go to help mission projects.

CRAFT SHOW:

While in town, be sure to attend the Christmas in Bellbrook Craft Show. The craft show will be Saturday, December 1, 2001 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM at Sugarcreek Elementary School cafeteria. Booths will feature hand-made items from local artists and crafters. This is the perfect opportunity to find unique Christmas Decorations for your home and find that perfect gift for all the people on your Christmas list.

SANTA'S WORKSHOP:

Santa will be opening up shop in Bellbrook at Santa's Workshop, Saturday, December 1, 2001 from

10:00AM to 3:00 PM in the Sugarcreek Elementary School. Come and enjoy free crafts for the kids and a visit with Santa for everyone.

KIDS CHRISTMAS CAPER: ATTENTION ALL CHILDREN!

Come walk downtown and visit our local businesses with your parents. On Saturday December 1, each designated business will have a special holiday treat for all children between 12:00noon and 3:00pm. Pick up a map of participating businesses at Sugarcreek Elementary School between 12:00 and 2:00pm. Kids must be under the age of 12 and accompanied by an adult. Limit of 250 kids.

WINTER'S LIBRARY:

Winter's Library will be having a book sale on Saturday from 10:00 to 3:00 in their mobile book unit located for the celebration at Sugarcreek Elementary School. The perfect opportunity to pick out that special novel for you or the reader on your Christmas list. While you are there be sure to ask about Christmas Storytime.

FREE CARRIAGE RIDES:

Experience the old-fashioned fun of a horse drawn wagon ride! Rides are free on Saturday, December 1, 2001 from 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM. Horses will pull an old fashioned wagon through the city beginning at Sugarcreek Elementary School.

BELLBROOK HISTORICAL MUSEUM

The Bellbrook Historical Museum located at 42 N. Main Street will be open from 12:00pm-5:00pm. Stop in to cherish the rich history of Bellbrook. And don't forget to return at 3:30 after the caper to listen to a fascinating storyteller and enjoy some hot chocolate.

CHILDREN'S PARADE:

Santa is our guest of honor at The Children's Parade on Sunday December 2, 2001 at 4:30 PM. Be sure to watch the parade, which begins at Dot's market and follow it up to Bellbrock Park to participate in Christmas in the Park. The parade will feature floats from area businesses and organizations. Don't miss this event, it's sure to be fun for children of all ages!

SPAGHETTI DINNER

The Bellbrook Chapter of the American Legion post 761 and Auxiliary will be sponsoring a spaghetti dinner on Sunday evening December 2, 2001. Come and enjoy a warm meal and a friendly atmosphere to continue a family weekend. Prices will be $6.00 per person.

LUMINARIES:

The Sugarcreek-Bellbrook Chamber of Chamber and Bellbrook Lions Club will present luminaries, which will be placed along Franklin and Main Street downtown Bellbrook by the Boys Scouts and Lion Club.

TREE LIGHTING

Directly following the parade join the city in the lighting of the Christmas tree in Bellbrock Park. The air will be crisp and the sights should prove to be beautiful.

CHRISTMAS IN BELLBROCK PARK:

Christmas in Bellbrock Park is sure to be the highlight of the weekend! Be there at 5:00 PM on Sunday to enjoy live entertainment, a roaring bonfire, a community sing, a program by Bellbrook Jr. High School Chorus, and of course, Santa sharing treats with the children compliments of the Bellbrook Lions Club.

CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS:

The tradition continues! The Christmas in Bellbrook committee is pleased to present the 4th annual Christmas in Bellbrook Collector's ornament. The ornaments will be available at the craft show and from local merchants including Well's Pharmacy located at 3951 West Franklin St.. Be sure to start or continue your collection with this Limited Edition Ornament.

COMMUNITY SERVICE:

The residents of Carriage by the Lake have something to look forward to during the Christmas in Bellbrook weekend. As a part of the “Visions of Sugarplums” celebration, Santa and the Christmas in Bellbrook Committee members will be visiting residents and leaving each a gift. Cub Scout Pack 175, who will be caroling throughout the halls, will join the committee!

Christmas in Bellbrook is a weekend planned for families. This year we have events for the children, such as Santa's Workshop, where the kids can visit with Santa and enjoy some free crafts. The Kids Christmas Caper where the kids do a sort of trick or treat with the downtown businesses. While the kids are entertained you can browse through the Craft Show and Winter's Library Book Sale. As a family you may enjoy a free horse drawn wagon ride downtown on Saturday. The Children's Parade, on Sunday, leads into Bellbrock Park for a Tree Lighting Ceremony and a Family Sing A Long. If you would like some time without the kids, come and enjoy the Christmas in Bellbrook Dinner Dance on Saturday at the Community Center. The dance begins at 7:00pm and ends at Midnight with dinner by LMR Catering, music by Advent Music, Door Prizes and Raffles. Cost is $15.00 per person. It's a great deal of fun for the whole family. We hope everyone will bring their friends and family and enjoy bringing in the holiday season with “ Visions of Sugarplums" .
