| The Annual
Installation Dinner/Citizen of the Year Banquet is one of the most
popular events put on by the Chamber of Commerce. Outgoing
members of the Executive Board who were recognized were Ann Luke,
President, Sue Levoe, Vice-President, Bill McKernan, Secretary,
Lucile Flanders, Treasurer and Cynthia Abernathy, Promotion
Council Chair. For a complete list of this Year's Board of

This year's event honored Marilyn McKernan as Citizen of the Year.
Members of Marilyn's family came from Florida, Michigan and
Minnesota to help her celebrate her day. Two of
Marilyn's nieces, Colleen |

McKernan and Donna
Madsen, emceed the award presentation part of the dinner. It
was done roast-style, with moments of sentimentality thrown in.
The evening began with a revamped version of "Secret Agent
Man," performed by Marilyn's nephew, Chris Madsen. The
highlight for most seemed to be when Marilyn's "grand-nieces
and nephews" spoke to her. After the dinner, the
McKernan's revived the seemingly on-again/off-again tradition of
the Citizen of the Year party moving to the Buccaneer. |
