Policies and Procedures - Criteria for the data

Gordon, what are the criteria for the data (samples and examples) to be shared—how often, how much, etc. and by when?

I have been telling everyone that you must have policies and procedures in writing; and here I am without policies and procedures for when submitting Chamber related data (samples & examples of your best work) as part of your membership.  I do require that Chambers send something but as a standard rule we have none. I am going to give several examples:

More than a few Chambers have told me that they have created a chamber101 folder on their computer, and when they create a new letter, new policy, office procedure, or project, etc., they also save it in the chamber101 folder. Then, when they have time they send the new data along to ceo@chamber101.com as e-mail attachments.
Two questions for you:
1. Have you set up a chamber101 folder yet?
2. Do you have something you would like to share?

We don’t have any to send.
Here was my answer.
Most Chambers have these items or should have:
Budgets of every kind (chamber and projects), new member letters w/any enclosures, membership drop letters w/any enclosures, letters of all kinds, Office Procedures, Office Policies, Policy Manual, Business Plan, Annual Report, By-Laws, Program of Work, Program of Work Survey, Committees with goals and time lines, dues schedule, Job Description of Staff, Employee Handbook, New Member Handbook, Member Orientation Program.

One exec said I don’t have anything that is why we are joining chamber101.
Here was my answer:  Set up a folder in your hard drive called chamber101. When you get a new idea from chamber101 and write a new letter, memo, etc., and save it in your computer, then save it one more time but this time save it to the chamber101 folder.  Then when you have a little free time, send all that in the chamber101 folder to ceo@chamber101.com as e-mail attachments.

For those who are Not-Yet-Members can send data along from time to time. We normally put their data in Not-Yet-Members pages for all to see. They, too, are supporting chamber101 in this way. If they are regular supporters of chamber101, they get a free pass to put in their back pocket just in case of emergency.

We hope this helps with the criteria for the data (samples and examples) to be shared. Remember chamber101 is all about sharing

What is chamber101 all about?
      What are other Chamber's doing?
How do other Chamber's do it?
Can we scale these ideas up or down to fit our Chamber?
Sharing your ideas with other Chambers!
Why invent the wheel over again!
Learning to think outside the box!
                                  Ideas, Ideas, & Ideas!

That is what chamber101 is all about!
